 – ‘I’ve looked and have longed. But looking and longing is far from enough.’ An exploration of Echo & Narcissus.

Taking place in two purpose-built cubicles and a lift, the tale of Narcissus and Echo.

In the intimate space of the lift the passengers are under scrutiny, Morphic Echo gives positive personal comments going up, negative personal comments going down, then you are duly directed towards cubicles on different floors.

The padded white upper cubicle is a place to bask in your glory. As you enter into the red interior, and close the mirrored door the lights come on to reveal you on show through a glass end to the outside world,

Those viewing you can see their reflection behind you in the mirrored door creating a relationship between seeing and being seen.

The institutional white down cubicle of a standard toilet, is a place to delve into your shame. The ceiling and floor mirrored to distort your thinking in this place of retreat.
